The Rendiconti dell’Accademia Nazionale delle Scienze detta dei XL – Memorie di Scienze Fisiche e Naturali have been presented on May, 7, 2015 on the occasion of the opening ceremony of the 233rd academic year. The Rendiconti are published every year; they collect memoirs of Academy members or by researchers presented by members as well as proceedings and study encounters. Opening ceremony of the 233rd Academic Year

On May 7th, 2015,  the 233rd academic year of the Academy of the XL will be opened. During the ceremony, the new members Paolo De Bernardis (Astrophysics), Andrea Rinaldo (Hydraulic Engineering), Giuseppe Scarascia Mugnozza (Forest Science), Margherita Venturi (Chemistry) will be awarded the academic diploma. Ervedo Giordano, emeritus of Tuscia University, will guide the public to the discovery of ancient trees and to the privileged relationship they have always had with man; on October 21st, prof. Valerio Sbordoni of the University Roma Tor Vergata will talk about the feelings butterflies have about plants, while dr. The Management of the Italian Natural Science Collections – a Meeting in Rome

The meeting on ‘The Management of the Italian Natural Science Collections’ will take place in Rome on October 14th, 2014. The Meeting, promoted by the National Academy of Sciences and the National Association of Scientific Museums, aims at starting a debate on possible solutions that could lead to a more efficient management and a better valorization of the Italian natural science collections, nowadays in precarious conditions.
