The meeting ‘Chemistry in the energy transition’, to be held in Bologna on September 29, 2017, is the fourth appointment of the series ‘Science and Technology in the Anthropocene: risks and benefits’. The reduction of fossil fuel consumption represents one of the challenges mankind has to face urgently by means of energy saving actions, more efficient primary energy transformation, and renewable energy development.
