On November 15 the public meeting held concomitantly with the Second Annual Conference of the Academy Members will host the lecture of Professor Fabrizio Nestola, Director of the Geoscience Department of Padua University, on: “Superdeep Diamonds: An Indication of the Earth’s Core”. He will report on his group results on natural diamonds and their inclusions that created a wide interest among the geological, mineralogical, and geophysical science communities. Programme
During the meeting, the Academy shall commemorate two members sadly lost during 2019. Prof. Augusto Vigna Taglianti, Professor of Entomology and Zoogeography at Rome “Sapienza” University, was Director of the Zoology Museum, Chairman of the Working Group on Museums and Member of the Museum Commission of the Italian University Rector Conference (CRUI). He was one of the most passionate supporters for the renewed Museum System of Rome “Sapienza” University and the curator of several scientific exhibitions. Prof. Antonio Graniti, Emeritus Professor of Plant Pathology at Bari University, former Director of the Departments of Agricultural Microbiology, Biology and Plant Pathology, and Dean of the Agricultural Faculty, was a member of scientifically-related Academies at Bologna, Florence, Siena in addition to serving as national member of Lincei and XL Academies in Rome.
