On 24 May 2023, the Academy inaugurates the 241st Academic Year since its foundation. For the occasion, the new member Prof. Elena Cattaneo, Professor of the University of Milan and Senator for Life, will give the inaugural address on the theme “Huntington, between evolution and disease”. A welcome to the newly elected members prof. David Michele Cappelletti, full professor of Chemistry at the University of Perugia and director of the Climate Research Center (CIRIEF), Perugia; and Giorgio Manzi, full professor of Anthropology at the Department of Evolutionary Sciences of the Sapienza University of Rome.
As is customary during the Ceremony, the XL Medals for the year 2023 will be awarded: the XL Medal for Mathematics to prof. Emanuele Macrì algebraic surveyor; the XL Medal for Physical and Natural Sciences to the immunologist Lorenzo Moretta; the Matteucci Medal for Physics to Francesco De Martini.
