The fifth meeting of the ‘Science and Technology in the Anthropocene: risks and benefits’ program will take place on October 15, 2017 in Rome at the Library of the National Academy of Sciences called of the XL. In the future, in Europe and in the world, bio-resources will become increasingly scarce, and the territorial bases for their production, namely, soil and water, will be increasingly precious. Accordingly, as the European Union recalls, the definition of an integrated management of the territory – the Directive on Soil Protection is part of it – is extremely urgent. The study and training meeting “Soil, Water, Landscape. Fundamental resources for the development and quality of life” is based on these themes and on the research activities that are carried out currently to address rationally and practically these environmental and social priorities.
Speakers: Marcello Mastrorilli, Marcello Pagliai, Andrea Rinaldo, Luca Salvati, Giuseppe Scarascia Mugnozza
