The portal of the project “Novum Corpus Fontanianum,” dedicated to the census of bibliographic, archival and museum sources related to member Felice Fontana (Pomarolo, 1735-Florence, 1805), a scholar of natural sciences, human and animal physiology, lecturer at the University of Pisa and organizer of the Royal Museum of Physics and Natural History in Florence, opened in 1775 at the behest of Grand Duke Peter Leopold of Lorraine, is online.
The project marks the start of the Digit XL program, which aims to census, collect and make usable the works of the founding members of the Accademia dei XL.
The project was carried out by the National Academy of Sciences known as the Accademia dei XL, in collaboration with the Human Sciences Department of the CNR, the Società di Studi Trentini di Scienze Storiche and the Accademia Roveretana degli Agiati, with the contribution of the Fondazione Caritro.
