The National Academy of Sciences is governed by a Council comprised of five members: the President, the Vice-President, the Secretary, the Administrator and the Councillor. The Council is elected by Academy fellows for a duration of 4 years.

The Council is supported by a staff of employees and collaborators to carry out the institutional activities.
